ADM 601 -Introduction to Assessment - August 10- 14th

This five-day course provides a basic introduction to the operations of the county assessor’s office.  Topics such as real property appraisal, mass appraisal and statistics, local government finance, title conveyance, mapping, personal property, and the fundamentals of assessment math are covered.  Discussion includes both administrative and appraisal duties/deadlines of the assessor’s office.

 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

·         Provide procedures to assist county assessors in the valuation or real property including an understanding of basic math and measurement, title conveyance, mapping, theories of real property appraisal and statistics for ad valorem taxation.

·         Encourage communication and sharing of information.

·         Promote statewide property tax equalization through the use of similar methodology.
